River Kids church & home stay activities here

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."  Matt. 19:14

River Kids is our Children’s Ministry for infants - 5th grade and is designed to help kids grow in their knowledge of Jesus, through fun-filled interactive stories and age appropriate activities.

River Littles (infants - 3yrs) and River Kids (4yrs - 5th grade) meet in the Community Room at the Malaga Cove Library. Parents can check-in kids at the courtyard towards the back of the library off of Via Pinale or follow signage from the Gallery Room. Parking is available behind the library and on surrounding streets. We look forward to seeing you there!

River Kids Hangouts (3-5th Grade) River Kids meet every other week to hangout, play games and dive in a little deeper with Jesus.  Keep an eye out for locations in our monthly River newsletter. Sign up to receive the newsletter here!

Junior HIgh

John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. "

TiDE is a fun place to grow in friendships with peers and develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. We meet on Tuesday nights, starting June 22nd, at Torrance Beach just to the left of the main ramp (throughout the summer) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Bring your bathing suits and be ready for some fun games (dodgeball, speed charades, human bowling, paintball wars). We will also listen to the Word of God and spend time in small groups.

We love Junior High students and are honored to be a part of their growth into the individuals that God has made them to be. TiDE is here to walk alongside these students as they grow into their relationships with themselves, with others, with God, and with all of creation.

Please contact Luke Schroeder if you would like your student to be involved in TiDE or if you have any questions or comments - luke@riversouthbay.org.

High School

The River High School group, RuSH, will meet Wednesday evenings 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. throughout the summer, at Torrance Beach just to the left of the main ramp, starting June 23rd. This is the time for students to prove themselves at spikeball, get the best barrels of their life, and connect with the Lord.

RuSH - Because we are rushing towards God's grace. The "u" is lowercase because we personally (you/yourself) are incredibly small in comparison to God's love and grace.

"Immediately, when the entire crowd saw Him, they were amazed and began running up to greet Him"  Mark 9:15

The River High School Group offers what we call "Small Groups" for students who are looking to dive deeper into the dynamic life following Jesus. Small Groups are composed of 5-10 students who meet weekly with their leader to study the Bible and grow closer in their friendship with each other. During the weekly meetings, students will engage in conversations that ask the tougher questions of life and spur spiritual growth. The River High School Group is intentional about using Small Groups to develop mature disciples of Jesus.

If you would like to join RuSH, please register here

College mentorship

The River Church is committed to supporting our students' faith journey, especially while they are in their collegiate studies. Research shows college is a critical time for a person's faith development and The River wants to be a support to strengthen each student's faith. In an effort to support our students, we have a "Adopt a College Freshman" program, where caring people from The River can send care packages, notes of encouragement, prayer cards, and be an advocate for a student throughout their collegiate journey. If you would like your daughter or son to participate in this program, please see the attached information. If you would like to "adopt" a student  please contact Katy Reich at 310.850.8717.
