River Kids

We're excited to welcome our new Children's Ministry Director - Cathy Pluimer! - Read more here.

River Kids is our Children’s Ministry for infants - 5th grade and is designed to help kids grow in their knowledge of Jesus,  through fun-filled interactive stories and age appropriate activities.

River Kids meets on Sundays during our 10:30am service.

River Babies (infants - 3yrs) meet at the Norris Pavilion and River Kids (4yrs - 5th grade) meet just down the street at the Norris Conservatory.

Parents must sign their children in at drop off and sign them out at pick up.

Family Worship Weekend

Once a month River Kids join their families for worship at the Norris Pavilion. Bring your kids with you to the Pavilion and after worship River Kids leaders will transport them down to the Conservatory. Donuts & coffee at pick-up at the Conservatory. Check the calendar for family worship dates!

Experience the joy of investing in young lives and join the fun-loving River Kids Team, as we partner with parents and teach biblical truths to children in a fun and exciting way! Curriculum is provided and background check is required.

If you have questions or are interested in joining the River Kids Team, contact Children's Ministry Director, Cathy Pluimer, cathy@riversouthbay.org

*Occasionally, the 10:30 service is held across the street from the Pavilion at the Norris Theater, in which case, River Babies will also be at the theater. Please view the church calendar to confirm service location.

Empowering, Equipping, and Encouraging the next generation of servant leaders. We are offering a place for Jr. High & High School students to grow as servant leaders.  This will be an 8-week servant training followed by an apprenticeship in a key church ministry. Upon the completion of this program, these students will have a deeper understanding of the leadership opportunities in a church and will have developed a greater awareness of God’s call to serve.

High School

The River High School group, RuSH, meets Wednesday evenings 7-9pm, in various locations when meeting as small groups. Please refer to the calendar for large group meeting location.

RuSH - Because we are rushing towards God's grace. The "u" is lowercase because we personally (you/yourself) are incredibly small in comparison to God's love and grace.

"Immediately, when the entire crowd saw Him, they were amazed and began running up to greet Him"  Mark 9:15

The River High School Group offers what we call "Small Groups" for students who are looking to dive deeper into the dynamic life following Jesus.  Small Groups are composed of 5-10 students who meet weekly with their leader to study the Bible and grow closer in their friendship with each other.  During the weekly meetings, students will engage in conversations that ask the tougher questions of life and spur spiritual growth.  The River High School Group is intentional about using Small Groups to develop mature disciples of Jesus.

If you would like to join RuSH, please register here

College mentorship

The River Church is committed to supporting our students' faith journey, especially while they are in their collegiate studies. Research shows college is a critical time for a person's faith development and The River wants to be a support to strengthen each student's faith. In an effort to support our students, we have a "Adopt a College Freshman" program, where caring people from the River can send care packages, notes of encouragement, prayer cards, and be an advocate for a student throughout their collegiate journey. If you would like your daughter or son to participate in this program, please see the attached information. If you would like to "adopt" a student  please contact Katy Reich at 310.850.8717 or participate on 8/26 at church (both beach and Norris) when you can draw a students  name.
