Reality Is Our Friend

"Reality is our friend." It's almost comical how frequently a former boss and mentor of mine would say those words. What he meant was this: there are few things more helpful when making a plan for the future, few things more instructive in knowing what to do today, than having an accurate picture of our true situation. When it comes to navigating our lives, then, there's an obvious question: What is the situation we live in? And what does that mean for how we should live today? We continue our teaching series in the parable of Jesus, Stories From Another World, with a teaching from Luke 19:10-27 and an exploration into Jesus' teaching about the true story we find ourselves in and what we should prioritize in response.
