Debbie Montgomery
Tell us about your family.
I am recently married (during the onset of Covid) to my loving husband Ron and now have (5) children in all: my two young adult children Cole and Reece, and three step adult children (Ron's young adult kids) Hunter, Cade, and Maddie. These are exciting times for all as they begin to enter the working world and are discovering their passions. We also have two labrador retrievers Maestro and Rosie who bring lots of love to the family.
Describe your job here at The River.
As the Director of Administration and Finance, I wear many hats! I direct, train, and oversee the administrative and communication team, on-board new hires, manage most human resources needs and business matters, and organize all women's and men's ministry events as well as any special projects. In addition, I am responsible for all tithe processing, payables, and updates to the finance team.
What is your favorite place to eat?
My favorite place to eat by far is Monty's Kitchen! You may not have heard of it - yet. It's a little place (in my home) where chef Ron creates amazing culinary dishes. I am blessed to have a husband that is passionate about and super talented at cooking! Praise the Lord!
In your free time, what do you enjoy doing?
In my free time I love playing sports, working out, or enjoying the outdoors - pickleball, beach volleyball, soccer, snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking etc. Right now I am super excited about pickleball! It didn't look interesting enough for me at first but once I started playing on a weekly basis, I got hooked! Speaking of hooked - I recently discovered that I love fishing too! Who knew?
What is your favorite thing to do in the South Bay?
Pre-Covid, Ron and I really enjoyed going for dinner in the Riviera Village and then going couples-dancing at Hey 19. (It's closed down now - boo hoo.) We still love to couples dance when we get a chance. (I am a rookie but he knows what he's doing.) Looking forward to getting back to live music venues!
What is one place you've always wanted to visit?
I would love to see the shores of Croatia! I am part Croatian and I've heard how beautiful it is there.
What is your favorite movie of all time?
I'm not sure I have one - but one that I've seen several times is The Princess Bride.
What is one thing on your bucket list?
To skydive if I get the courage!
Choose one.
Beach or Mountains? Beach.
Coffee or Tea? Tea.
PC or Mac? Mac.
Early bird or Night owl? Early bird.
Ice cream or Froyo? Gelato.
